Amazing new X Factor USA trailer premieres

Another new promo for the X Factor USA has premiered, following the Britney-only clip that surfaced earlier this week.

The new one shows someone getting led away in handcuffs, someone getting taken away by paramedics, one dude breaking down completely, and Demi Lovato proving she has one of the best laughs in the world.

Check it out below.

Really CBA with the UK version this year…

Fired in the US, hired in the UK: Nicole Scherzinger signs X Factor contract

Reports are emerging tonight that X Factor producers have not granted our wishes and hired yesterday’s guest judge Anastacia for a full-time role on the show. Goshdarnit!!!

Instead they have gone with Nicole Scherzinger, and the axed X Factor USA judge is said to have just finalised a $1 million contract to be on the show starting from the Judges’ Houses stage. She was a guest judge in London last month.

Anastacia proved overwhelmingly popular with audiences at Glasgow’s tryouts yesterday, but it looks like it may have been too little, too late – Nicole has been in contract talks for a couple of weeks.

The ‘Poison’ hitmaker went down great when she appeared as a guest judge in 2010, and even contributed to the decision to form One Direction out of five rejected soloists. However she failed to connect with US audiences last year when she was hired as a replacement for Cheryl Cole on the North American incarnation of the talent show, and was fired along with Paula Abdul in December.

Rita Ora, Mel B, Geri Haliwell and Leona Lewis also served as guest judges, so it could have been worse, right?

Bad news, Anastacia fans: Nicole Scherzinger is the new X Factor frontrunner

Well our jubilation yesterday over the rumours of Anastacia being a contender to join The X Factor has hit a slight snag, in that this week’s guest judge Nicole Scherzinger is now the frontrunner.

The ‘Try With Me’ hitmaker impressed at O2 tryouts on Wednesday, despite being unceremoniously dumped from the US edition after a series of annoying gaffes during the live shows. Need we mention Rachel Crow?

A source tells The Sun:

“We are talking to Nicole about taking on the job full-time. She is the only person in the frame. It’s now down to money and whether she can commit to the show, which takes up most of the rest of the year. She has given us positive signs. But no-one is counting their chickens after what happened with Dannii Minogue.”

JUST LET ANASTACIA HAVE A GUEST STINT! PLEASE GOD!

AS IF our Anastacia X Factor wish might actually come true

Back in April, just after Kelly Rowland officially dropped out of The X Factor, I said Anastacia would be a fantastic replacement.

She was the best thing about the deeply, deeply flawed Channel 5 Glee-inspired choir contest Don’t Stop Believing, but people were too busy with talking about Dannii Minogue, Geri Haliwell and bloody Estelle to pay her any heed.

Even when more names started entering the fold – such as Rita Ora, Nicole Scherzinger and Frankie chuffing Sandford – there was still no word on Anastacia.

And now, PRAISE BE, she’s finally been “linked”. A source tells the Daily Mail that “Simon would like an American back on the panel”, but is not keen on ITV’s current favourite of Nicole Scherzinger. To be fair, she did tank on the US version.

The “Gutsy” ‘Left Outside Alone’ hitmaker is now on the radar, and will be invited to a guest spot at one of the future audition days. If she is successful, it is thought that she will be offered the gig full-time.

COME ON ANASTACIA!

“I. Care. For. It.”

EXCLUSIVE: Bianca Gascoigne auditions for The X Factor, is rejected

Paul Gascoigne’s daughter Bianca auditioned for The X Factor today, but was given three ‘No’ votes by the judging panel.

The beauty, who admitted to being most famous for starring in 2006′s Celebrity Love Island (!), said she wanted to change the public’s perception of her by becoming famous for something other than just being Paul’s daughter.

According to our source (check us out having a “source”), who was at today’s tryouts at the O2 Arena in London, she performed Mary J Blige’s demanding classic ‘I’m Going Down’ to a fairly good standard, but was told she was not in the same league as the better girls in her category.

We are told:

“Bianca was fine but not mind-blowing. She’s got a nice voice but the crowd didn’t really warm to her and the song was far too big for her. It was a bit boring.”

Tulisa, who had met her on nights out in the past, said her vocals weren’t strong enough, and guest panellist Rita Ora told her she was “a bit flat”. Gary Barlow continued the negative critique by saying she was not as good as the other people her age, and called the performance “a mediocre audition”.

Louis Walsh told her she had a great voice and a great image, but echoed Barlow’s comment that she was inferior to other young female contestants. He gave her her only ‘Yes’ vote.

A couple of audience members have also let slip that today’s auditions saw an ill-received tryout from girlband From Above, managed by Beyonce’s dad Matthew Knowles. They were put through to the Boot Camp stage by the skin of their teeth (yes’ from Rita, Tulisa and Louis despite negative comments), though Tulisa told a subsequent boyband that she regretted sending the girls through. They performed Jessie J’s ‘Price Tag’ and were criticised by Gary for having one member out of tune in the harmonies.

Demi Lovato ‘clashes with angry reject’ at X Factor audition taping

She’s looking set to be the breakout star of The X Factor USA, but Demi Lovato has learned that being a successful talent show judge sometimes involved a bit of cheeky backchat.

Tweets sent out by audience members at the Texas tryouts this week reveal that a 50-year-old contestant who sang an uncomfortably sexual original song to a 16-year-old member of the crowd had a hugely negative reaction from the crowd, and received scathing feedback from the judges.

Lovato reportedly kicked off the critique by saying that  he creeped her out. “I just can’t,” she said.

Britney then gave her first big swipe of the season, joking: “I want to know why let you on stage. I left uncomfortable with you even being on stage looking at me right now.”

After he also clashed with LA Reid and Simon Cowell, Lovato then told him he couldn’t sing and he spitefully accused her of using autotune in her recordings.

“No, I don’t,” she snapped back. YOU GO DEMI.

An audience member wrote on Twitter: “DEMI JUST TOLD HIM HE COULDN’T SING. HE SAID THAT’S WHY YOU USED AUTO (TUNE) AND I DON’T. TO DEMI (sic)”

“You need to leave now,” demanded LA, before Simon told him to get off the stage.

Demi then shouted after him as he left talking to teenage girls.

The X Factor USA Day 1: How harsh were Britney Spears and Demi Lovato?

LA Reid, Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and a certain Britney Spears will soon be arriving in Texas for their second day of shooting The X Factor USA’s audition episodes, but gossip is still doing the rounds about yesterday’s debut.

E! were there to report on every moment, and seemed happy to relay that Brit loosed up a great deal as the day went on and, by the sounds of it, that Demi could be the show’s equivalent of Britain’s Got Talent‘s David Walliams – by which I mean she was a little flirty but unafraid to tell him where to stick it.

Two episodes were shot yesterday, with 14 acts being auditioned for the first. Britney missed the last four so she could “take a break” (?), but was there for the entirety of the second episode taping. She was a lot more chatty with Demi during the second phase, and apparently the pair even stood up and danced during a hip-hop trio’s performance.

What was she like as a judge? Very sweet, apparently. To a rapper who was universally deemed to have given the worst audition of the day, she quipped “I like your hat”, and when the man to her left was especially scathing to another hopeful she said “That’s rude, Simon!”. She did, however, get booed by the audience at one point when she gave a negative critique. Amazing.

Feisty Demi shot down both Simon and LA on several occasions, and was a massive flirt with the younger male singers. “I like a country boy,” she purred to one act. Her best moment was apparently when Cowell said to a pretty 22-year-old “It’s too bad we didn’t meet 10 years ago,” and Demi chimed in with “More like 30″. Britney may generate the headlines, but it seems like Demi could sneak up below the radar and steal the show.

Video: The X Factor USA judges arrive for first day of auditions

Demi Lovato and Britney Spears have begun work on The X Factor USA, as the filmed auditions get underway in Texas.

Britney’s already had to deny a rumour that she stormed off half-way through the first day, whilst Demi has called Simon “grandpa” and cut LA Reid “to shreds”. Amazing.

There was a slightly awkward moment outside (picture, left) when Britney signed a Rolling Stone magazine front cover with the headline ‘The Tragedy of Britney Spears’ (it was published mid-breakdown in 2007), but other than that it seems everything went swimmingly.

Check out this video of the judges making their arrivals at the venue, and then making their entrance to sit behind one of TV’s most famous desks.

Oh, and here in the UK apparently Geri Haliwell got booed.

The X Factor 2012: Alicia, Tinie, Gwen, Rod and Robbie for guest judge roles

Apparently Alicia Keys, Tinie Tempah, Gwen Stefani, Rod Stewart and Robbie Williams have been booked to guest judge The X Factor‘s upcoming auditions; while Geri Haliwell, Mel B, Alesha Dixon and The Saturdays’ Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman are being considered for the permanent position.

No replacement for Kelly Rowland has been found, with the delay being blamed on the assumption that Dannii Minogue would accept a £1 million offer to make a comeback. Funnily enough, after being shat on by Simon Cowell’s biographer, she’s reluctant to uproot her family to the other side of the world.

The Sun claims that the quintet of guest judges will work at the first round of filmed auditions, which begin as early as this Wednesday (May 23) in Liverpool before making their way around the country.

The Daily Star Sunday has also given the chaos considerable coverage, saying that Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger (no shit) and Katy Perry have all said no.

A source says:

“At this rate the fourth judge may not be signed until much later in the series. Dannii turning them down was a massive blow because as far as ITV1 and The X Factor were concerned it was a done deal. The back-up plan is to have a host of guest performers take part in the regional auditions and possible Boot Camp before revealing a permanent name at the Judges’ Houses in August. Everyone involved knows how important the judges are to the success of the show… Numerous high-profile singers have come forward wanting the job. But bosses fear they aren’t big enough names to wow viewers. So it’s now panic stations to make sure they can sign up a big enough name in time.”

As long as it’s not Sinitta…

VIDEO: The moment Demi Lovato and Britney Spears were unveiled for The X Factor

Demi Lovato and Britney Spears have been officially unveiled as X Factor judges (SHOCK HORROR)… And here’s the moment they were unveiled.

Britney isn’t particularly full of banter but go Demi – she’s ready to win!

Note also Britney’s lil’ gaffaw when Simon says he’s ready to “kick butt”. SOUND THE PERSONALITY ALARM! (I joke, but… seriously, Britney. Let’s not much this up, right?)
