One Direction’s episode of iCarly airs next Saturday (April 7), and a teaser trailer has been released in anticipation.

Liam, Zayn, Niall, Louis and Harry are seen performing and having general lols with the cast of the Nickelodeon show, some of whom are excited to see them, and some who aren’t as much.

Check it out below, and for more One Direction news don’t miss our Weekly Directioner round-up.

In a shocking denial of incredibly convincing rumours, Rihanna is not going to be on X Factor USA.

Well, credit to the usually reliable (NAHHHHHHHHHT) HollywoodLife for giving it a go, but it would seem the rumours surrounding Rihanna “replacing Britney Spears” in X Factor USA talks are in fact bollocks.

Asked about the story by Daybreak, she said: “I know, I haven’t heard about that. I haven’t had the call yet! I really didn’t, I haven’t heard about that.”

So now it would seem Britney is back in the frame AGAIN.

Just announce the ruddy panel already, Simon.

Read the original bullshit here.

Rihanna replaces Britney Spears in X Factor USA negotiations?

So apparently we’ve gone from Britney Spears being a “dead cert” for X Factor USA to being replaced completely by Rihanna.

Last week it was alleged that Brit needed permission from her conservatorship judge before she could sign on the dotted line, and she got it during a pre-scheduled court hearing in LA. “An announcement will be made within the next couple of weeks,” said a source.

But now ANOTHER source has claimed that talks between Brit and show bosses are “pretty much dead” – and it’s Rihanna who’s now entered negotiations.

HollywoodLife – which, to be fair, is more often than not just packed with fabricated bollocks – claims to know an insider at the show who says the ‘Birthday Cake’ star has joined LeAnn Rimes as a possible replacement for Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.

Avril Lavigne, Janet Jackson and Fergie have also been linked, though the latter two have both denied the speculation.

Teri Hatcher criticises shock death of major Desperate Housewives character

WARNING! THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS A MAJOR DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES SPOILER FOR THOSE WATCHING THE SHOW AT UK PACE.

Teri Hatcher has admitted in a new interview that she is not a fan of the latest Desperate Housewives twist, which aired in the US last night (March 11).

Teri’s character Susan lost her on-screen husband when Mike Delfino (James Denton) was shot in a drive-by attack.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said:

“I’ve got to be honest, I think it was a bad idea. When I heard about the plan of his death, I pitched a story idea that in the finale he would be in an airport in Bolivia and MJ and I would run into his arms and discover the whole thing had been some undercover witness protection programme.

“It’s sad to me that Susan, who started the series as a single, unloved mother, ends now in the same way. I always thought the audience wanted to see Mike and Susan finally happy and safe but that place did not sustain itself for Marc or ABC, I guess.”

Denton himself had previously said:

“I was really surprised. Any other year, I would have been disappointed, but at this point I figured, well, we made it… As an actor, you just hope people care.

“I remember lying in the threshold [filming] with the blood pouring out of me looking up at the top of the porch. I’ve been there for over eight years, and I’ve done so many scenes on that porch… It was a little creepy… It was sort of fitting.”

The X Factor USA 2012 judging panel: Simon Cowell, Adele, Britney Spears and LA Reid?

With Simon Cowell apparently keen to keep the UK X Factor judging line-up static this year, the tabloid speculation around who’s in and who’s out hasn’t been as intense as it was this time last year. But the US version is still just as up in the air.

Britney Spears is by far the most widely-reported contender for one of the two vacancies behind the desk on the 2012 season, with Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger’s jobs both up for grabs. And now it seems the mogul is desperate to sign Adele as well.

Speaking to the Daily Star, “a source” said:

“Simon is always looking for new directions and ideas. He thinks Adele’s success and achievements are incredible. He recognises that true musicianship and a serious approach can bring a lot of credibility and an extra dimension to his show.”

Another insider added: “The producers love her.”

Would Adele take the job? I can’t see it.

As for Britney, the reports are coming too thick and fast to be based on hearsay. But whether or not she should take the job is a two-sided arguement. Yes, it would be great for us all to see that behind the micro-managed interviews and dead-behind-the-eyes performances is still the same fun popstar we fell in love with in the 90s.

But look at what happened to Cheryl Cole and, more brutally, Nicole Scherzinger. The show built them up, took a giant shit on them and kicked them out. After all Brit’s had to deal with, particularly over the last few years, is that really what she needs?

SPOILER ALERT! Major Desperate Housewives death revealed

INCLUDES SPOILER – PROCEED WITH CAUTION

You know how I said the other day that the Desperate Housewives lawsuit between Nicollette Sheridan and creator Marc Cherry is becoming more interesting than the show itself?

FORGET IT.

Remember in January when it came out that a major character would be dying soon? WELL, whilst under oath on the stand today, an executive producer revealed that a serious (“SIRRUZ”, as Kelly Rowland would put it) culling is taking place in the next episode, due to air in the US on Sunday (March 11) and the UK in a few weeks’ time.

When asked by Nicollette’s lawyer if any other major characters apart from Edie Britt have been killed off in the show’s eight years on air, George Perkins replied: ”Yes. Mike Delfino.”

……… I KNOW RIGHT.

He told E! Online: “It has been a great ride and I’m sad it’s ending.”

Like I said – SIRRUZ.

Gossip Girl, Hart Of Dixie, Ringer, Nikita all facing cancellation this year

A number of shows broadcast on The CW are facing the axe at the end of the current season.

The time is fast approaching when US TV networks will have to decide what shows to keep and which to axe, and with Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle doing amazingly and 90210 proving surprisingly stable this year it looks like Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie and Nikita will have to scrap it out.

Ringer, the lowest-rated scripted show on the channel at the moment, is almost a dead cert to be shown the door when its current first season comes to an end.

But what of the others? Insiders reckon at least one, if not two of the three in the “relegation zone” will be canned. Nikita is the lowest-rated of the three, but in its favour is the fact that it airs on a notoriously harsh Friday night, where no shows really thrive with viewers. The fact it’s also an established show could help it out.

Gossip Girl‘s ratings have been on the slide for years, and its current fifth season has far from perked things up. But its enviable fanbase and the fact its stars are such huge tabloid attractions could lead to it being given one final push in the 2012/13 year.

Hart Of Dixie started off on shaky ground back in September, but saw its viewership stabilise as it got settled and it was looking pretty good just before Christmas. That said, it has been struggling since returning from its winter break, and is now in real danger of not being granted a second season.

There is, of course, already one spot opened up in the 2012/13 schedule, as One Tree Hill is due to end forever on April 4.

NEW TALENT SHOW CLAXON! Kelly Clarkson and Lionel Richie to mentor on Duets

US network television will welcome its fourth high-profile singing talent show this summer.

Duets will join The Voice, The X Factor USA and American Idol as yet another hunt for the Next Big Thing.

This show will see four mentors scour the nation for two singing partners. Each week, they will then perform a duet (geddit?) with each protege, with eliminations to happen on a weekly basis.

The winning act will join Hollywood Records, the Disney-owned label that houses Selena Gomez and the Scene, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato.

The four mentors are Lionel Richie, Robin Thicke, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles and – wait for it – Kelly Clarkson.

It all kicks off on ABC later this year.

Desperate Housewives lawsuit: Creator recalls breaking up Nicollette Sheridan and Teri Hatcher fight

The Desperate Housewives lawsuit continues to both fascinate and amuse, as creator Marc Cherry has revealed in court that he had to separate Nicollette Sheridan (Edie Britt) and Teri Hatcher (Susan Meyer) during filming for the show’s first season because they were having a huge fight.

The axed blonde actress called her co-star the “meanest person in the world”, according to E! Online.

Sheridan is suing Cherry on the grounds that he allegedly only killed her off because she complained about him hitting her round the head.

He claims, however, that her exit had been pre-planned long before.

He explained: “[The] primary reason I killed off the character was I thought creatively it was the best thing for my show,” saying that it both saved money and improved the on-set atmosphere.

He added that Sheridan would come to work not knowing her lines, and would make “insulting comments” during table reads.

But oddly, Hatcher was the only primary cast member not on Marc’s list of potential witnesses. Eva Longorai, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and James Denton were all present and correct.

Hatcher is also rarely seen at publicity events for the show. She was noticeably absent without explanation from the Season 8 première back in September.

Demi Lovato’s ‘Stay Strong’: Admits self-harm relapse since leaving rehab

Demi Lovato’s MTV documentary Stay Strong aired in the US last night, and it saw her make the revelation that she has relapsed since leaving rehab for issues with self-harm and an eating disorder.

As we all know, she was admitted to a treatment facility in November 2010 after finally facing up to her struggles.

“I cannot tell you that I have not thrown up since treatment,” she said. “I cannot tell you that I have not cut myself since treatment. I’m not perfect.

“An addiction is an obsession, something that takes over your mind and your every thought. You think that you can’t live without it. For me, it was not eating and purging and self-harming.”

The ‘Skyscraper’ singer continued to say that she believes her problems stem from insecurity. She added: “[I was] looking in the mirror and never feeling good enough. I felt like I was living a lie… I was dealing with all this pain, emotionally. And I felt guilt and shame. I decided to take it out on myself. I harmed myself.”

She admitted that her music career is one of few things in life she holds dear.

“If you took away music, I wouldn’t have a reason to live,” she confessed. “Every time someone asks me for a picture or an autograph, even if I’m having a bad day and I’m in a bad mood, I remember, ‘You’re nothing without this person’. They make it special.”

The UK release of her album Unbroken has been delayed to April 2.
