WIN: Will Ferrell’s Everything Must Go on Blu-Ray

Will Ferrell gets to properly flex his acting muscles in Everything Must Go, a new comedy-drama that’s basically everything Larry Crowne wanted to be.

The film is out now on DVD and Blu-Ray, and we have 3 copies to give away on Blu-Ray to a few lucky readers.

Directed by Dan Rush and based on a short story by Raymond Carver, the indie hit tells the story of Nick Porter (Ferrell) a man who sells “salesmanship” for a living, but the days of being on top of his game are long gone. After delivering an inspiring presentation to his sales staff, Nick is summarily fired for falling off the wagon one last time.

He returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks on their suburban home and dumped all his possessions out on the front yard. Faced with his life imploding, Nick puts it all on the line – or more accurately, on the lawn.

To be in with a shot of owning it for free, all you have to do is whack in your name and an email address we can contact you on if you win.

The competition is open to UK residents only, and will close at midnight on Monday 7th November. E-mail addresses will not be used for any reason other than to contact the winners. Only one entry per e-mail address will be accepted.

WIN: Charming comedy Potiche on DVD

If you went to the cinema over the summer, chances are you’re already familiar with Potiche as the film re-subtitled by Orange in their switch-off-yer-bloody-phone campaign. BUT DON’T PANIC – the film itself, unlike those adverts, is genuinely brilliant.

To celebrate its release on DVD this week, Trash Lounge is lucky enough to have three copies to give away to lucky readers.

North of France, Sainte-Gudule, 1977. Suzanne (the wonderful Catherine Deneuve) is a placid housebound ‘trophy housewife’ (or “potiche”) of wealthy industrialist Robert Pujol (Fabrice Luchini), who oversees his umbrella factory with an iron fist and is equally tyrannical with his children and wife. When the workers go on strike and take Robert hostage, Suzanne steps in to manage the factory. To everyone’s surprise, she proves herself a competent and assertive woman of action. But when Robert returns from a restful cruise in top form, things get complicated. Gerard Depardieu plays Babin, a former union leader, and Suzanne’s ex-beau who still holds a flame for her.

Read the Trash Lounge review here.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply fill out your name and e-mail address below. We will select three winners at random once the competition closes at midnight on Saturday 15th October. Good luck! (Please be aware that this competition is open to UK residents only. Only one entry per email address will be accepted.)

WIN: Terrifying scare-fest Hidden 3D on Blu-Ray

Chilling new feature-film Hidden arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray this week, and to mark the occasion Trash Lounge has three copies to give away on Blu-Ray.

Shot in Italy and Canada for $8 million, Hidden stars Sean Clement (Fringe) and Simonetta Solder (Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy).

The film follows Brian Karter, who learns that he has inherited The Sanctuary, home to his late mother’s controversial addiction treatment center. During a tour of the decrepit building with his friends and a mysterious associate of his mother, it becomes clear that something sinister lies beneath the surface. Despite their misgivings, the group follows a secret passageway underground and comes to a terrible realisation: Brian’s mother built a revolutionary machine that cured people of their addictions but, as a side effect, caused those addictions to materialize in the form of mutant children hungry for human flesh, now living in the bowels of the abandoned building. With the mutant children hunting the group as prey, Brian and his friends fight to stay alive against the inconceivable, and soon realize that some things are better left hidden. Sounds fun, no?

To win a copy of the film on 3D-enabled Blu-Ray (don’t panic, 3D-phobes – it works in 2D too), all you have to do is follow the snazzy new Trash Lounge account on Twitter (click here) and tweet it saying “@TrashLounge HIDDEN PLEASE”. Simples. Three entrants will be picked at random when the competition closes at MIDNIGHT ON FRIDAY (7th October). Because midnight is the scariest time of day, obviously.

Hidden is released on DVD and Blu-Ray next Monday, 10th October.
