Frankie Cocozza emerged as the unlikely hero of Celebrity Big Brother, proving that just because he’s a lairy lad with sex constantly on the brain, he’s not necessarily a raging dickhead.
His defence of Denise Welch in the face of the vile Playboy twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon cemented his status as a frontrunner to win, and last night he polled second place behind a victorious Welch.
Speaking at a press conference after the show whilst smashed off his face, he said his top priority is music:
All I want to do is music. That’s the main thing. Music, music, music. Whether I’m good enough to pursue that or not? I don’t really give a shit. I’m going to try it no matter what. I’ve got the platform to give it a go so if it fails miserably then so what, I don’t really give a shit. I’m going to do it. Music is what I want to do.
When asked if Celebrity Big Brother was a turning point for him, he said that wasn’t his intention when he went in.
I didn’t want it to be a turning point. I just thought if people want to jump on a couple of headlines after The Sun write this or The Mirror write that, then I don’t even want them to like me. My parents were like ‘go in there, show every one how nice you are’. I just said ‘no, don’t fucking talk to me’.
On the famous Pantsgate fight night, he said:
That was literally just because I couldn’t handle that there were two people screaming at Denise. It does creep up on you every now and then that you’re on TV. I can’t handle when someone’s stuck in a corner and people are on them. It just crept up on me and I thought she’s getting done in and she’s all by herself, and I love Denise. The fact that she was standing there and I could see where she was coming from, I just thought this isn’t right. I can’t even remember what I said. I think I just said ‘be quiet’. The thing that pissed me off most is when they were saying ‘go and have another drink Denise’. They were just trying to bring up anything whatever the press has wrote about them before. I didn’t like that.
Do you think Frankie can have a successful music career?
I liked him on CBB, but… no.
