Little Mix’s Cannonball cover is just a “formality”, says Tulisa
Tulisa Contostavlos has rightly said that Little Mix‘s coronation single ‘Cannonball’ is just a “formality”.
The song, which is almost certain to be No. 1 today, was released following the girlband’s victory on The X Factor last week.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, the N-Dubber said: “If I’m being honest the debut single ‘Cannonball’ is more of a formality for them.
“The real fun will begin when they get in the studio and find their identity. That’s when they’re going to start the ball rolling.”
The winning mentor also said: “There’s a lot of pressure on them to deliver but they can do it. People are saying they could be as big as the Spice Girls and I really think they could. They want to work their butts off and they’re so focussed.”
I reckon the girls would benefit from not hanging around for too long. Instead of waiting for Marcus or Amelia to scrounge a record deal, they should bash out a single in time for May/June sort of time, and then bring out another single and the album around the time of the X Factor 2012 live shows. In my opinion, anyway…
Is the Cannonball in question here the original one by The Breeders? If so then I have to hear this new version. As far as I know the original song isn’t broken, so there’s no need to fix it. Good luck to this girl group.

I absolutely hated the Cannonball song first time around by Damien Rice and still hate it and I am stunned how Little Mix got to number 1 with it. The song to me is wet and the lyrics do not represent how people feel. I really think float like a cannonball is a dumb choice of words and is out of context,since when did cannonballs float duh! And love taught me to lie,well maybe for Damien as love does not teach you to lie so get real. And this at Christmas too,urgh I want compensation for ear abuse.
The 2011 XFactor judges have every right to be annoyed with the bosses and the Bosses should all be thrown out by their ear for ruining my Christmas. I want to forget this song ever existed and I so hope Millitary Wives will get to number 1 and get rid of Little Mix.
