Dannii Minogue and the most awkward moment of all time
This week’s X Factor was a night of pretty average performances and VT sequences that have become so ridiculously theatrical it’s almost hilarious.
But let’s not forget Dannii Minogue for the moment that will inevitably be blown ludicrously out of proportion in the media over the coming week:
The Daily Mail are already on it. SHOCKER.
It couldn’t possibly have been more awkward. Dannii really set herself up for a ridiculous backlash. But to be fair, Danyl came out as bisexual in the press back when this series first began, it really wasn’t like she’d given away his secret past as a transexual relative of the Queen with a colourful criminal record who lives in an underground tunnel in a Belgian forest.
It was hilariously awkward and she probably only really made that comment to show off that she does in fact read the papers, but she really didn’t create a justified storm or say anything homophobic… in fact if anything it was almost pro-gay that she encouraged him to sing about his chosen gender rather than the socially-common gender (although if he’s bi that’s irrelevant anyway and we’ve gone full circle again OH FOR GOD’S SAKE HOW CONFUSING).
ANYWAY.
The show in general was a bit pants really – Stacey Solomon, surprisingly Lloyd Daniels, and Olly Murs probably turned in the night’s best performances. Lucie was given a ridiculous song choice that could have blown her chances of winning, and Kandy Rain must surely be the favourites to go. Incidentally, the Cheryl/Dannii vs Simon row was ludicrous, Cheryl and Dannii were spot on about them counteracting their wishes to be taken seriously by dressing provocatively and Simon’s “well you guys perform half naked all the time” jibe was far from the point they were trying to make.
Also, even though they were vocally horrific, in terms of their performance (can’t believe these words are about to be typed)… Joh and Edward were probably the strongest group. Miss Frank are fantastic but their performance was disappointing, and J&E don’t deserve to be torn to shreds like they have… yes they are horrific but they’re young and the fault is Louis’ for putting them through, not theirs for applying in the first place.
Anyway. Kandy Rain will inevitably get voted out tomorrow and hopefully Stacey Solomon will cruise to the finishing line and, even if Danyl will probably win, she’ll hopefully be a finalist at least.

what?? Lloyds was one of the worst performances. Ollys was forgettable!
