Leona Lewis‘ new album Glassheart may have been postponed until next year, but she is releasing an EP, Hurt, this Friday. Releasing at the end of a week sounds a bit barmy, but at least it gives her people an easy excuse if it doesn’t chart highly (is it even eligible to chart?!).
The collection features three songs – ‘Hurt’, ‘Iris’ and ‘Colourblind’ – with ‘Iris’ being a Leonafied version of the Goo Goo Dolls hit. At least I assume it’s Leonafied (as in ‘Run’/'Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ Leonafied), but there is the possibility of it being a ‘Collide’-style rave-pop number. We shall see.
Not sure if the other two tracks are covers of hits by Christina Aguilara and, uh, Darius Danesh… but they’re probably not.
She’ll be performing one of the tracks live at the X Factor final, which will also be attended by Michael Buble, Coldplay, One Direction and JLS.
Yes, that’s One Direction and JLS. Making their THIRD appearances this series.
Actual winners Matt Cardle and Joe McElderry have actual new music coming out around actual now, so one would think it’d be more sensible to have an actual winner at the final rather than runners-up who prove that the end result is totally meaningless, BUT HEY WHAT DO I KNOW.
