Jade Ewen, Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah – the current incarnation of Sugababes – performed their new single ‘Freedom’ in full for the first time at today’s T4 On The Beach.
The crowd could not be more disinterested at the sound of an unfamiliar track, and to be fair it hardly sounds like the year’s summer anthem.
We had concerns about ‘Freedom’ when a snippet was released a little while back, and the full cut doesn’t make us any more optimisitc. This is the make-or-break album for the ‘Babes, despite signing a new three album deal with Sony, and the chances of this single being able to take them back to the heady days of ‘About You Now’ seem mighty slim. Hopefully, we’re wrong.
