‘The Writer’ is the ultimate high point of Ellie Goulding’s ‘Lights’ album and – SALVATION! – it’s being released next month as her third proper single.
She’s not the most comfortable in front of the camera, and the video was probably filmed in about an hour and a half, but kudos for the bit with the wavey white cloth and the arty summer evening shots of Els with the sun behind her. Not a video to change the world, but hey ho, the song’s outstanding so here it is:
