Very sad news tonight that Nora Ephron, who wrote When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless In Seattle and You’ve Got Mail, has passed away at the age of 71.
Her most recent work is Julie and Julia, for which she hand-picked Meryl Streep after meeting her through the theatre.
Rumours had begun circulating earlier tonight that she had already died, but sources told TMZ that the three-time Academy Award nominee was still alive but in a critical condition.
She had been suffering from leukaemia and the site has since reported that she has now passed.
Nora, thank you so much for the wonderful memories so many of us have of your uplifting movies. I for one would love to be able to write stories as warm, funny and enduring as hers.
