Jessica Wright – she of The Only Way Is Essex fame – has launched her pop career with her first single and video.
Released under All Around The World – the same label who ‘own’ Tulisa – ‘Dance All Night’ hardly breaks new ground, musically or lyrically, but is a pleasant surprise in terms of how well-suited it is to the summer pop-club scene.
The video is a little cheap, mainly because there are SO MANY different locations (and the dance scenes are terrible), but it does the job well enough.
It’ll be fascinating to see how well this does – those who were never going to like a song by a reality TV star will bemoan its generic sound, whilst others could fall in love with it. Airplay might be a bit hard to come by, but if you ask me it’ll be great if it did well enough for us to see what else Jess has in store.
