Cher Lloyd makes first entry in US Billboard Hot 100

The song that Cher Lloyd should have released first in the UK has cracked the Billboard Hot 100.

‘Want U Back’, which peaked at No. 25 over here earlier this year, has become her first transatlantic smash, reaching the giddy heights of No. 75 on this week’s pile.

OK, it doesn’t sound that amazing, but the song has been bubbling under for a fair ol’ while, and it’s good that’s finally managed to break into the actual charts. Its download sales shot up week-on-week to 20,000, bringing its total to nearly 100,000 – not too bad at all.

Cher is now the third act from The X Factor’s 2010 final to penetrate the US charts – ironically the fourth and final act to do so will be the actual winner, Matt Cardle. One Direction have already topped the album charts with Up All Night and flogged a ridiculous amount of copies of ‘What Makes You Beautiful’; also Rebecca Ferguson debuted at No23 with her album Heaven just a couple of weeks ago.

CLAPS FOR CHER, EVERYBODY.
