Last year’s Britain’s Got Talent favourite Ronan Parke has been dropped by Sony after disappointing sales of his debut album.
The 13-year-old released an eponymous covers album in October and disappointed execs when it stalled at No. 22. The winner of the series, Jai McDowall, has also been let go following his own album’s failiure to even crack the Top 40.
So there you have it. Giving a talented kid a collection of low-budget covers that could have been arranged on a cheap Argos keyboard doesn’t make for a million-selling record. WHO KNEW?!
Ronan’s contract was allegedly worth £1 million, according to Metro.
