Is ‘Gravity’ the best Pixie Lott video yet?
In eight-or-so months Pixie Lott has seen her first two singles fire to No1 (each breaking some sort of record in the process), shifted enough copies of her debut album for it to be certified Platinum, and earned herself three Brit nominations. Unfortunatley the vid for most recent single ’Cry Me Out’ was a bit of a balls-up (using slow-mo close-ups and vampire fancy-dress in place of what should have been snow, candles and big coats!), but for her second consecutive ballad release she seems to have done a much better job.
‘Gravity’ is easily one of the best tracks on the ‘Turn It Up’ album (look, we reviewed it and everything), and for the video – unlike with ‘Cry Me Out’ – artsy fancy stuff is left at the door in favour of a simple dance-againt-a-white-backdrop affair with a couple of cool costume changes. The most adventurous we get here is doing full-on choreography to a ballad, falling from the sky in ballet gear and wearing a black bob wig; but it’s a really cool video for a really cool song, and Pixie herself has never looked better.
‘Gravity’ is released on March 8th.
