With Kelly Rowland widely reported to be “95% unlikely” to return to The X Factor this year, the Sunday Mirror claim to know that Dannii Minogue is in negotiations to make a comeback.
She had to duck out of the 2011 season because of clashing commitments with her Australia’s Got Talent role, combined with the commitments of being a new mum.
Dannii said earlier this year that she’d be open to a comeback, but in the meantime there have of course been the revalations of her secret 2007 fling with Simon Cowell.
But a source says:
“Simon thinks she’s great. They are still friends. If it works out, then it will be fantastic for X Factor. No formal offer has yet gone out, but this is likely to happen in the next few days.”
Dannii won the show twice – once with Leon Jackson (…) in 2007, then again with Matt Cardle in 2011. Her other successful candidates have included Stacey Solomon.
Gary Barlow is the only judge to have officially confirmed his return, but Tulisa and Louis Walsh are both expected to make a comeback as well.
