I don’t want to alarm anyone, but Jedward’s Eurovision song is brilliant. It may have been out since February, but it’s today’s music video première that has really shoved it down the pop world’s throat.
It’s “good pop” in quite an old-school kind of way – there’s something quite innocent about it that gives their deceptively enormous fanbase something to get genuinely excited about.
And though they may not be the most talented knives in the draw (…yeah, that line needs revision) or particularly able to appeal to anyone over the age of 18, they have proven themselves since 2009′s X Factor to be quite the worthy idols. They interact with their fans, they’re actually nice to their fans, and most importantly they are clearly able to deliver a solid tune every now and again.
Sozza Englebert, but looks like Ireland have the leg up on us this year.
