Marc Cherry has been dropping hints about the Desperate Housewives finale, and apparently we can look forward to omniscient narrator Mary-Alice Young (Brenda Strong) playing a big part in proceedings.
The eight-year-old drama ends on May 13 in the US, with the UK closure to follow shortly afterwards.
Cherry tells TV Line:
“I don’t know about happy endings versus tragic endings. But I want to make sure that we end the show in a very satisfying way for the fans, so the endings for the characters are going to make sense.
“I would say that the odds of seeing [Mary Alice] on screen… are very high. [Her] commentary started the show, and her commentary will end it.”
It is also confirmed that Dana Delaney will reprise her role as Katherine Mayfair in the final episode. She was last seen at the end of the sixth season, and Delaney left to work on her own new show Body Of Proof, which is reportedly heading for cancellation this summer after just two seasons.
A fairly dramatic episode will air in the UK next week – click here for the spoiler.
