Epic news everyone! Joan Collins is joining the cast of The Only Way Is Essex in time for season five!
Wait… wut? No, not the Dynasty actress/Snickers flogger. It’s Gemma’s mum.
An insider tells The Sun:
“They think bringing in Joan will be great fun. She is Gemma’s rock, but also ten times wackier than her and they have great fun together. She might not appear in the first episode but she is certainly on her way. Together with Gemma’s new boyfriend Charlie they are hoping to create a whole new family unit with them. Older women always work really well on the show and Joan will join Jess’s mum Carol and Lydia’s mum Debbie as well as Nanny Pat and Nanny Brighton.”
Bosses are apparently touting the forthcoming run – already the second of 2012 – the best yet, but cast members have been warned to up their game or consider themselves axed. Dino and Georgio, the twins Gemma previously spent a lot of time with, have already been given their marching orders, and Georgina Dorsett – who was never realistically going to live up to all the “FEMALE MARK WRIGHT!!” hype she had before Season 4 – has been told she’s on her last warning.
